Grandioseness and Wisdom Walk into a Bar: They Sit down to talk

A practical joke.

Grandioseness and Wisdom walk into a bar and sit down at a table to talk, grandioseness is proud and swiftly willing to fight. Wisdom says such inclinations are narrow in sight – “simply, there is no one to fight”. The wisdom reminds, there is no enemy embodied in a man, in this life, we tussle only with ideals, the only enemy powerful enough to bring you to defeat is the enemy in whose power you believe.

ACT I: WISDOM SPEAKS

Wisdom says, “do not waste your time on revenge”, invest in your true happiness instead, invest in purifying yourself, time is better invested in creating a life that you recognise. Focus on love and peace of mind and soon it will grow to fill the creases of your comforting life, a helpful life is a humble life and it is a good life, to be able to live a meaningful life that makes you proud is to live wisely.

Wisdom says to build a life in which you speak from heart, in which you uplift to reach staggering hight. However, be ready to row and live not having seen a ray of light, be ready to be small and you will grow tall. A good life is somewhat of a rebellious life, because peace of mind is a rarest strive, but wise man do not pick unnecessary fights. Learn to laugh with the Spirit of all that is alive during daylight and be glad to be able to cry tears of joy at sundown, a life that pulls at your heartstrings, a life that is difficult to leave behind is a sentimental dream that many men have dreamed of acquiring but few have grasped. Feel your connection to everything and be attached to nothing. Make your life inviting, so that dance fills it gladly, and goodness sticks to it like it’s honey.

Stir yourself a potent life that fits in your most prised cup, a life that is far and wide and comfortably compact. Remember, wisdom says, the more stuff you have the heavier you are, a life of few material possessions is lived by wise men. After all, wisdom says, the more you possess the more possesses you. Wisdom sat revealing a gentle smile as it is wisdom’s usual style.

ACT II: GRANDIOSENESS DELIGHTS AT THE STATE OF AFFAIRS

Now it came turn for grandioseness to speak its mind. Grandioseness guffawed “people willingly walk into their demise all the time”, grandioseness exclaimed in pride of its cleverness, “it is a rather satisfying resolution to a cliffhanger” it added in unnecessary cruelness. They will soon allow their minds to be reduced, imprisoned, and seduce, they would rather be led by the whispers in the back of their head than by you, wise old woman.

They will allow themselves to be haunted, to be bewildered, and to lose all interest in what is good to them, they will drug themselves into obedience and drink themselves into dullness, they will work themselves into a meaningless life, they will shake hands with fraudulent men in the morning, laugh with thieves in the afternoon, and attend dinners with dishonest politicians in the evening. They will close out unfavourable deals in which they will gladly sell even their firstborns for a fist of pins and silver coins, just watch. them do it.

Time and time again they will find themselves having been sold short as they sign their joys away. They will choose a lover who exaggerates their vices, together they will live in blissful misery and ignorance. They will always frown and their face will get stuck and they will age disgracefully. They will diverge from integrity almost instantly. They will waste no time to show their corroded bite. They will hex themselves, silly and naive men without clue of the game they play.

They will sacrifice their legacy. They will do all of this, willingly. They will surrender their better morals. They will betray their loved ones. As a final blow, they will give their lives for a worse cause. In the end, grandioseness leans over the table to finalise its verdict to the wise woman – “they will even weigh their souls with rocks in their palms to hide their trickery”.
